Shao is the family name of Brooklyn-based jewelry designer Jenn Shao. Founded in 2019 in a beachside studio in San Diego, the jewelry house began as an exploration of form and texture, influenced by the natural, laid-back environment of the California coast.

After relocating to New York City in 2021, Jenn’s practice evolved into the distinctive style seen today that melds sculptural sensibility with playful experimentation. Her studies at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in New York City and the Istituto Europeo di Design in Rome deepened both her technical foundation and artistic perspective.

Working across fine, sculptural, and bespoke jewelry, Jenn blends traditional craftsmanship with digital tools, from wax carving to Rhino and ZBrush. Each piece functions as a wearable form, drawing from both past and present narratives while challenging convention through contemporary design.
